Leroy J. "Jug" Brault ObituaryNiagara- Leroy J. "Jug" Brault, 95, of Niagara, Wisc., passed away peacefully on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the Iron Mountain VA CLC, Iron Mountain, Mich.
Jug was born August 13, 1930, to the late Alcide and Laura Brault. He joined the Marine Corps in 1951 and served his country in the Korean War until his honorable discharge. In 2018, Jug was honored to go on the Honor Flight to Washington, DC with his grandson, Bryan.
Jug married Geri J. Rihtarshich on October 1, 1955, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. They enjoyed 47 years together before her death on June 23, 2002.
Jug worked at the Niagara Paper Mill for 44 years. After his retirement, Jug and Geri spent their winters in Sun City, Arizona, and summers in Pembine at Hi-Lo Acres. He enjoyed growing tomatoes and cucumbers, giving them all away. He also spent 78 years hunting, starting with his dad and brothers, and later at his good friend Fritz Rouse's camp with all his friends. Jug was a proud Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewers fan. While he was in Niagara, he was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. First and foremost, he loved spending time with his family. He was a great husband and father.
Jug is survived by his two daughters, Denise (Joe) Thomson and Tami (Tim) Kadulski, both of Niagara, Wisc.; four grandchildren, Nikki Wolosyn, Bryan (Katie) Thomson, Nicholas (Sarah) Kadulski and Alex (Sarah) Kadulski; seven great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Wolosyn, Dante Stachowicz, Carlie and Gage Thomson, Brody, Anderson and Kendall Kadulski, along with Alex Kadulski's twins on the way; one brother, Marvin (Mary) Brault; sister-in-law, Margaret (Gary) Lantagne; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jug had many special friends, including a special friend, Ronnie Sweig, who kept him going.
In addition to his parents and wife, Geri, Jug was preceded in death by his in-laws, Mafalda and Joe Rihtarshich; brothers, Ronald (Gloria) and Merton (Ginger) Brault; sisters, Marlene (Jake) Jacobson, Beverly (Ronnie) Richards, and Mayfern, who died in infancy; as well as an infant grandson, Kyle Kadulski.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at the Iron Mountain VA CLC for caring for Jug with kindness and compassion.
Per Jug's request, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Pit Stop Bar & Grill in Niagara on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 12 Noon until 3:00 p.m.
A private burial will take place in the spring at Niagara Cemetery.
And when this "Saints Goes Marching In" know DAD you will always be "Our Sunshine Our Only Sunshine". XO
