Robert Stanley Holmes

Robert Holmes, 70, of Taylor, Texas, passed away on December 28, 2022 after a hard fought battle with heart disease. But if we were able to still ask him his response would be: "nothing could kick his ass."
Robert was born on September 29, 1952 to Clifford and Mildred Holmes in Fort Hood, Texas.
In addition to doing odd jobs as a carpenter, Robert worked in car sales for over 20 years and managed the fleet department at a Ford dealership located in Corpus Christi, Texas. When new management took over and he was told he could no longer wear his cowboy hat to work, he called his wife, Revonda, and she gave the approval for him to go ahead and come on home. This opened the door for him to use his God given carpentry skills full-time. He started his successful business, Holmes Handyman Services, which he later retired from in 2020.
In 1981, while at a dance hall, Robert heard, "Hey cowboy, do you wanna shoot some pool?" He turned around and when he saw Revonda (who he nicknamed and forever called Angel) standing there he said, "Hell yeah I'll shoot some pool." They married in 1985 and were still dancing and kissing in the kitchen this last Christmas Eve.
Robert was predeceased by his mother, Mildred Holmes and his brother, Tommy Holmes.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Revonda Holmes, his sons, Trent Garrison and John Hill, his daughters, Desiree Young, Jami O'Brien, and Janell Meza, his honorary children, Chris Whaley, Sumer Polley and Brenda Graveman, his brother, Cliff Holmes, his sister, Reba Holmes, his brother from another mother, Mike Gowdy his daughter-in-law, Susan Garrison, his son-in-law's, Jared O'Brien, Ruben Meza and Daniel Young, his sisters-in-law, Tammy Hogue and Delores Miller, and his grandchildren, Stephanie Holmes and Gustavo DeLuna III, Cole, Heather and Brooke Garrison, Britton, Landon, Tyton, Angel, and Sofia Hill, Joey Lombrana, Ashley Salinas, Connor and Liam O'Brien, and Birdi and Gunnar Meza.
