Roger Dean Akers

Akers- Roger Dean Akers, age 75, of Starke, Florida passed away on Friday January 31, 2025. At his residence with his loving family by his side. Roger was born in Adrian, Michigan, on July 6, 1949, to the late Kessie Akers and Edna Mae Akers. During his childhood, his family relocated to Indiana, where he spent most of his life. In 1968, Roger enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country for three years. In 1969, Roger met and married the love of his life, Penny Brittingham Akers. Together, they shared 55 beautiful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. In 1970, the couple moved to Florida, where they built their forever home In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and playing pool. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Roger is served by his loving wife, Penny Akers; daughters, Serena Riley, Tabbie Wynne and Diana Lynn Ostrander-Akers, sister Janet Elwick, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
