Ruth's nursing career spanned over five decades, during which she provided care, comfort, and expertise to countless patients. Her dedication went beyond her professional duties; she volunteered as a nurse during multiple natural disasters, offering hope and healing to those in the most desperate situations. Ruth's selfless service and unwavering commitment to helping others defined her life's work.
Beyond her remarkable nursing career, Ruth was a passionate classical musician. She was a pianist, violinist, violist, and cellist, bringing the beauty of music into the lives of all who knew her. Her performances were a source of joy and reflected her deep passion for the arts.
Ruth's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her loving son, Richard Waltman, Jr., her devoted daughter-in-law, Hannah Waltman, and her treasured grandson, Noah Waltman. They will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
In her final days, Ruth was cared for by the compassionate staff at Richard Murphy Hospice House in Hammond, LA. The family requests that donations be made in Ruth's name to Richard Murphy Hospice House, continuing her legacy of caring for others.
Ruth Ann Waltman will be remembered for her dedication to her profession, her love for music, and her unwavering devotion to her family and community. Her legacy of service and compassion will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know her. May she rest in peace.
