Age 68, of Countryside, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Adventist University of Chicago LaGrange Hospital.
Born on March 27, 1956, in Woodstock, Illinois, Scott William Walker was a son of Perry and Doris (Freund) Walker. He was raised in McHenry, Illinois, where he graduated from McHenry Community High School.
Scott proudly served his country in the United States Army, a commitment he held with deep honor and pride. Beyond his military service, Scott was a true outdoorsman who found joy in fishing and exploring the beauty of the Smoky Mountains. He was also an avid sports enthusiast and a loyal fan of the Chicago Bears.
Survivors include his loving wife, Diane (nee Hodgen), whom he married on June 7, 1986 in Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City, Illinois; four brothers: Perry (Rae Jean) Walker of Naples, Florida, Jim Walker of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Joseph Walker of McHenry and Bill (Brandy) Walker of Urbana, Illinois; sister-in-law, Georgene Walker of Northville, Michigan and brother-in-law, Ron (Gail) Hodgen of Morris, Illinois; his uncle and godfather, Melvin Freund of Phoenix, Arizona and numerous nieces and nephews.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents: father Perry Walker and mother, Doris (Dave) Henken; one brother, Edward Walker; nephew, Brandon Walker and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Russell and Eleanor Hodgen.
Cremation rites have been accorded, and Scott will be laid to rest with full military honors in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois on June 11, 2025.
