Sharon Christensen St. Clair, age 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 23rd, 2022, at her home in Tooele Utah following an eight- year battle with cancer.
Sharon was born to Lloyd and Irene Christensen in Delta, Utah on August 17, 1940. She is the youngest child of 8. She married three times throughout her life: Kenneth Nelson, Jack Tomlin, and Edwin St.Clair. She attended Tooele High and graduated in Boulder, Colorado.
After graduation, she attended a technical college in Boulder, Colorado and went on to work for a magazine distribution company using her technical skills. Sharon then went on to work for a Salt Lake auto insurance company, and then made a career working for Tooele County, JTPA program to help those in need. She worked in tandem with her sister, Loretta working on many community projects. Some of these projects include starting the first women's conference, a march down Main Street to protest for better jobs for women, starting the first Tooele Arts Festival, implementing the first seasonal banners along Main Street, and coordinating fundraising for an electric wheelchair for a dear friend.
Sharon had a love and appreciation for all living things. She was a talented artist with oil paintings that depicted plants, animals, landscapes, portraits, and still life items such as old glass bottles. Sharon had a love for antiques and was talented at their restoration. She had a knack for mixing old and new, and arranged them beautifully in her 1930's craftsman home. To visit her there was to feel warm and invited.
In her retirement years, Sharon and her husband Ed were an integral part of creating the Ophir Historic District. They both enjoyed spending time in their Ophir cabin. They loved their time with their friends and the residents of this quaint town. They would frequently hike the surrounding mountains to take in all the wonders that nature provides.
Sharon was a devoted and loving mother who is survived by her three sons: Scott Nelson, Mike (Regina) Nelson, and Chris (Enga) Nelson. Grandchildren: Tyler Nelson, Preston Merta, Christopher Nelson, Faith Dena, Ketrah Dekanich. Greatgrandchildren: Konner Trease, Haidin York, Griffin York. Sister: Loretta Corpe. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Edna Sampson, Mavis Smith, Frea Johnson, Betty Gutierrez, Lloyd "Kay" or "Chris" Christensen, and Janice Knab.
Service will be held on Saturday, November 5th, 2022, 11:00 AM, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1366 Canyon Rd, Lake Point, Utah.
