Born October 30, 1948, in Richmond, Indiana, to Robert and Dimple Johnson McClanahan, Sharon was a resident of this area most of her life. She loved watching movies and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Melissa Blackwell of Richmond, Indiana; grandchildren, Ashley, Brittney, and Savanna Blackwell, and Brihanna Sheradan; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Kaylee, Dredyn, Trevion, Abriella, and Akilah; sisters, Cindy Amburn, Joann Maggart, and Pam Wiley; brother, Howard McClanahan; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Sparks; parents; grandson, Dustin Blackwell; great-granddaughter, Audrey Blackwell; brothers, Robert McClanahan, Michael McClanahan, David McClanahan, Johnny Duncan, and Eddie Duncan. Sharon was also preceded in death by her dog, Coco.
Visitation for Sharon K. Sparks will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
