Shirley Dupuis Obituary
Cecilia - A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia for Shirley Barras Dupuis, 77, who passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023, at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center.
A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia on Wednesday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until service time.
A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM on Wednesday.
Deacon Marcel “Butch” Hebert will officiate at the funeral service. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Mausoleum.
Shirley was born on July 8th, 1945, in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who dedicated her life to being a babysitter for many years. Shirley will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Shirley enjoyed a simple life filled with joy and happiness. Her hobbies included drinking coffee, visiting with friends, going to the casino, solving crossword puzzles, watching soap operas and westerns, and taking care of her plants and rose bush. Shirley found pleasure in the little things in life, cherishing every moment she spent with loved ones.
She is survived by her children, Leslie Dupuis, Theresa (Todd) Clause, Luke Dupuis, and Louis Dupuis; grandchildren, Brodi (Amber) Dupuis, Michael Clause, Lacie Dupuis, Gabriel Costley, and Tiffany Dupuis; great-grandchildren, Kiley Dupuis, Ally Richard, Raven Dupuis, Hayden Dupuis, and Connor Dupuis; and her fur grandbaby, Frisky.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Pierre "Pete" Dupuis; parents, Eddie and Judith Belaire Barras; daughter, Barbara Costley; son-in-law, Dale Costley; grandchild, Amber Dupuis; brothers, Melvin Barras, Dorsey Barras, and Wesley Barras; and her sister, Diana Perkins.
Pallbearers will be Louis Dupuis, Luke Dupuis, Brodi Dupuis, Gabriel Costley, Michael Clause, and Todd Clause.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the ICU Staff of Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center.
