Shirley Ann Eberly

Shirley Ann Eberly, age 87, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023, at Providence Place in Chambersburg, PA. Born in Waynesboro, PA on June 1, 1935, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Pauline Cosey Miller.
Mrs. Eberly was a 1953 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School. In March 28, 1954, she married her late husband, Rodney P. Eberly he had passed away in April of 2006. In the 1950's she worked as a switchboard operator for United Telephone. Then she and her late husband, Rodney P. Eberly, proprietor of the former Rodney P. Eberly Plumbing and Heating Company, she worked as the office manager for the family business. Mrs. Eberly was a member of Pleasant Hill United Brethren Church. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and gardening. She was very family oriented, cherishing her time with her family, especially in the later years with grandchildren.
Surviving are three children, Steve A. Eberly (wife Linda) of Fayetteville, PA, Gary L. Eberly (wife Debra) of Chambersburg, PA, and Sue A. Burkett (husband Doug) of Greencastle, PA; five grandchildren, Ryan Eberly (wife Carrie), Daniel Eberly (wife Andrea), Brandon Burkett (wife Kaila), Nikki Burkett and Shelby Burkett; six great-grandchildren, Eisely, Bryson, Rhys, Ethan, Olivia, and Emma; and two siblings, Connie McMullen (husband Grady) and John Miller (wife Judie). In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, James "Jim" E. Miller, Jr. in 1990, an infant sister Betty Miller, and a grandson, Tyler Eberly in 1981.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023, at 2 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA 17225, where Pastor Lester Kauffman will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Pleasant Hill United Brethren Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
