Stella King, age 81, made heaven her home on March 16. She was born in Hazard, Kentucky on April 4, 1942 to the late Shafter King and Vivian Adams King.
Stella was a humble and kind woman that always enjoyed living a simple life. She greeted everyone with a smile and never had a bad thing to say about others. Cooking, sewing and coloring were some of the things she enjoyed doing. Her favorite thing was attending family gatherings. Stella loved for everyone to get together, share a good meal and make memories. Even during hard times in her life, Stella would always keep her positive outlook and find the good in each situation. Her loving heart and warm smile will be missed by all.
She is survived by one brother, James King; four sisters, Patricia King, Sue Sands, Shannon Maxfield and Sharon King; eighteen nieces and nephews; a host of extended family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Shafter King Jr. and Robert King.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 19 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Richardson Funeral Home with Pastor Randall Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mann Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Robert Goodpaster, Steven Jones, Zack Harris, Barry Pergrem, Chris Pergrem and Lee Pergrem.
