Steven Robert Loveday

Steven Robert Loveday, age 45 of Clinton Twp., passed away on August 19, 2023 with his wife by his side.
Steve was born on December 18, 1977 to loving parents Kevin and Carol Loveday in Detroit, Michigan. His family would later move to St. Clair Shores, where he would grow up and graduate from Lake Shore High School. It was during his time in school that Steve would meet the love of his life, and future bride, Janine Sadler. They met at the early age of 12 years old, and officially started to date at the age of 15. After graduating from Lake Shore High together, both Steve and Janine attended Central Michigan University where he earned his undergraduate in music education and played in the university's marching band. Steve would go on to earn his master's degree at VanderCook in Chicago. It was during this time that Steve would ask Janine for her hand in marriage, and on June 24, 2000 they would marry in a beautiful celebration attended by all their family and loved ones. Together, Steve and Janine would raise three beautiful children; Emma, Bria, and Noah. Steve cherished his title of 'Dad' and proved time and time again to be one of the best. Steve never missed a dance competition, baseball game, or theatre performance. The love for his family truly had no bounds, and he cherished all the time he was able to spend with his wife and children. For many years, Steve was a talented and dedicated high school music teacher in Mt. Clemens and later in Armada. Later in his life, Steve decided to switch careers and became a successful automotive journalist. Steve loved his job, which gave him the opportunity to not only write but to spend more time with his family who he loved the most. In Steve's free time, he enjoyed traveling, hiking, and taking his beloved dogs on multiple walks a day. He was also a fantastic cook, and loved to make his family and friends delicious meals. The world is a better place because Steve was a part of it. He knew how to bring people together and make them feel special. Steve touched many people's lives throughout his 45 years, and he now leaves behind a great legacy. Steve will be forever loved and remembered by all who knew him.
Beloved husband of Janine Loveday; loving father of Emma, Bria, and Noah; cherished son of Kevin and Carol Loveday; dearest brother of Eric (Laura) Loveday; treasured grandson of Marilyn Loveday; dear son-in-law of Michael Sadler and Anne Sadler; loved brother-in-law of Brien (Kaylyn) Sadler; best uncle of Ewyn, Morgan, and Brendan; loving owner of his cherished dogs- Belle, Jake, and Cosmo. Steve is also survived by many loving family members and countless friends.
Visitation to take place on Wednesday, August 30 from 3:00 – 8:00 PM, and on Thursday, August 31 from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Funeral service on Friday, September 1 at Lee-Ellena Funeral Home. Instate, or gathering time, 10:00 AM. Service at 11:00 AM. Procession to Resurrection Cemetery to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Karmanos Cancer Institute where Steve received exceptional and compassionate care. He and his family are extremely grateful to all the doctors and nurses who cared for him during his illness.
