Wellman- Terry Edwin Kroemer was born January 22, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Edwin and Veneta (Wenndt) Kroemer. He graduated from Clarence Consolidated High School with the class of 1969. Terry was united in marriage to Patricia Berg on July 2, 1971 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wellman. Terry was currently a bus driver for the Mid-Prairie School District; prior to moving to Wellman in 2015, he farmed in the Clarence and Lowden area for 40 years. He began farming the Kroemer Century Farm with his dad in 1978. He also worked as a Nascar Tech Inspector for Frieden Inc and Simmons Promotions Inc, working in Cedar Rapids, Dubuque, West Liberty, and Farley. He drove buses for Tri-State Tours in the Eastern United States and Canada, he served on the Clarence School Board, was a member of the Lowden Jaycees and Iowa Jaycees. Terry did not know a stranger, he enjoyed meeting people, high school sporting events, the Iowa Hawkeyes, Bowling League and spending time with his family and friends. Terry passed away Friday, May 5, 2023 at his home in Wellman.
Terry is survived by his wife Patricia; three sons Cameron (Megan Clabaugh) Kroemer of Iowa City, Ethan (Melissa) Kroemer of Coralville and Christian (Darcy) Kroemer of Kalona; Grandchildren Allyson, Meghan, Isabel, Andrew, Josh, Olivia, Bristol and Conroy; a sister, Theresa (Jim) Schnack of AZ and a brother, Les (Pat) Kroemer of IN. Terry was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 am Friday, May 12, 2023 at Powell Funeral Home in Wellman. Burial will be in the Wellman Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Powell Funeral Home in Wellman. A General Memorial Fund has been established.
