Thomas Elwood Happel passed away suddenly on June 19, 2023 in Centennial, Colorado while playing in his senior golf league.
He was born on January 15, 1945 in Litchfield, IL to Elwood and Betty (Favre) Happel. Tom served in the United States Army in the 1st Infantry and Calvary divisions during the Vietnam War and was very proud to be a veteran. He married Priscilla Allen on February 6, 1965. Tom enjoyed golf, playing cards, hiking, and spending time with his family.
He joined his parents, his brothers, Bruce and Joe, and his beloved dog Molly in God's loving embrace. Tom leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Priscilla Happel, 2 daughters, Michelle (Joe) Luedtke and Nicole (Jeff) Trouchon both of Highlands Ranch, CO, 4 grandchildren, Jessica (James) Donahue, Ryan, Grayson, and Ellie. He is survived by 3 sisters, Barb Hamilton, Pat Minnaert, and Deb Sorrells. Tom was a skin graft donor and his gift will help countless people.
The funeral service will be held at Olinger Chapel Hill in Centennial, CO on July 6th at 10am. Procession will follow to Fort Logan Cemetery in Denver, CO at 12pm for a military committal service. Wear bright colors for this celebration of Tom's life. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation (t2t.org), Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org), or your local animal shelter.
