Vanessa D. Maculaitis

Vanessa Dale Maculaitis, 52, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023, in Cleveland, Ohio. Vanessa was born in San Diego, CA on December 4, 1970. She is survived by her son, D'Lorenzo Thomas (her pride and joy), her parents, Vincent R. and Maria Virginia (Villasenor) Maculaitis, and her brothers, Vincent D. and Victor R. Maculaitis. Vanessa is also survived by her longtime companion, George Najjar, as well as 5 nieces, 3 nephews, 2 sisters-in-law, 4 uncles, 3 aunts, and numerous cousins whom she loved dearly, and her former spouse and father of her son, Christopher Thomas.
After her 1989 graduation from Tuscarawas Central Catholic High School, Vanessa earned her degree in cosmetology from Roffler's Beauty College in Canton which prepared her for her early career as a cosmetologist and salon manager. Most recently, she has been the Activities Coordinator and Life Coach at SouthWest Commons in Strongsville.
She was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Strongsville and had previously been a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. She will always be remembered by and be part of The 5 V's (Vince, Virginia, Vinny, Vanessa, and Vic). Above all, she cherished being the mother of D'Loenzo, as he filled her heart with joy every minute of every day.
Father Jeff Coning will celebrate the funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 14, at Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery near Dennison. Family and friends are invited to call at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 13. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the Friends of the Homeless of Tuscarawas County.
