Viola L. (Farworn) McCarty passed away peacefully in her home on August 19,
2024 at the age of 93.
Mom was born on March 31,1931 to Katherine and Henry Farworn. She was the
youngest child born into a blended family of 2 brothers and 11 sisters. She was
raised in Paul and married our dad, Forrest McCarty, on June 27,1947. Shortly
after, they moved to their forever home outside of Paul.
Momma kept busy raising us 4 kids! She liked to do gardening, and in her spare
time enjoyed embroidering. Viola was an active member in the Paul Congregational
Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years, and was church secretary
for a time. In these later years, mom was seldom without a Search A Word Puzzle
nearby!
Proceeding her in death were her husband Forrest McCarty,1 son-in-law, 2
grandsons, and 1 great-grandson.
Momma is survived by her children, Ginger (David-Deceased) Pockel, Danial
(Patricia) McCarty, Susan (Richard) Howard, and Michael McCarty, along with 8
grandchildren,16 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
We would like to thank the Paul Fire Department, Visions Hospice, and Minidoka
Memorial Hospital.
A special thank you to our sister Ginger, for all the love and devotion she gave in
caring for momma.
A memorial service for both Viola and Forrest, will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
