VANCE, Virginia
Virginia Vance, 99 years old, passed peacefully and entered eternal life on March 20, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Leo, for 61 years. Dear mother of Gary (Vicki) Vance, Michael (Diane) Vance, Sandra (Len) Salvia and Al (Brenda) Vance. Adored grandmother of Josef (Chrissy) Vance, Lindsay (Larry) Bray, Sean (Meghan) Vance, Danielle (Jim) Chwalek, Michael (Stacy) Vance, Samantha (Tim) Becker, Amanda (Greg) Norrod, Tyler Vance, Lauren Vance, Madison Vance and the late Tori Vance. Daughter of the late Paul & Mary (Cizik). Sister to the late Jane, Edwin and Mary.
Throughout her life she served in many separate roles to a variety of different people. Each role carried its own distinct identity or name. Some knew her as Virginia or Virg or Ginny while others knew her as Mom, Gram, or Grammy yet others identified with her as Aunt Virg or Mrs. Vance. No matter what name she assumed, the common thread which united all identities was service service to God service to family and service to others.
Virginia joined the workforce prior to graduating high school working at a cosmetic counter of a local five and dime store that enhanced her love of beauty and fashion. Soon after she joined as one of the "Rosie the Riveters", during WWII, manufacturing airplane parts then was promoted to inspector for Briggs Manufacturing Company, Detroit, Mich. From there she secured a new job with Woodall Industries Inc, Detroit, Mich. working on aircraft. In February of 1947, Virginia married Leo and went on to become a mother of four children. She was a dedicated homemaker and was an active member in her church alter society. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, crocheting, sewing, and traveling with family. She loved manicuring her own nails and kept up on the latest fashion trends.
