Warren P. Henry, 78, passed away peacefully and with his family by his side on Friday, September 2nd. He was born in Mankato, MN on May 10, 1944. He was one of five children and the son of Everett and Elaine Henry. As a child and young man Warren enjoyed rough and tumble play earning himself the nickname "Butch," as well as golfing, fishing and hunting. He was on the high school golf team and worked as a caddy. After high school Warren enlisted in the United States Army in 1965. He was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam Conflict. He married his loving wife, Ilene Wegner of Faribault MN on February 17, 1968. Following an honorable discharge from the Army, Warren used the GI Bill to obtain a bachelor's degree from Mankato State University. In 1972, Warren and Ilene put their faith in God, moved across the country and began their life in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Warren began his career working as a loan officer in the banking and finance industry.
They adopted their eldest daughter, Tracy Sanchez in 1974 and welcomed their second daughter, Michelle Krylowicz in 1978. Warren and Ilene were active members of Christ Lutheran Church for over 25 years. Their dedication and faith in the Lord were an inspiration to many. They were happily married for 35 years until her untimely passing in 2003. Warren retired and spent the next several years taking an active role in helping to raise his four grandchildren. He spent his final years enjoying his time with his loyal dog, children, and grandchildren.
Warren was preceded in death by his wife, Ilene; parents, Everett and Elaine; brother, Daryl; and sisters, Linda and Sharon. He is survived by his daughters, Tracy Sanchez and Michelle Krylowicz; grandchildren, Isaac and Andrew Sanchez and Maggie and Joel Krylowicz; and sister, Jill Salfer.
Friends may visit FRENCH – University on Tuesday, September 13th, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Services will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 7701 Candelaria Rd. NE on Wednesday, September 14th, 11:00 a.m., with a reception immediately following. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date.
