Rochester, NH – Whitney Rossman, age 35, of Rochester, NH, formerly of Dover and Durham passed away on
September 13, 2023, at Wentworth Douglass Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. She has been
the beloved wife of Jacob "Jake" Rossman for nine years, and devoted mother to Avner and Ophelia.
She was born in Maryland on September 8, 1988, and raised in Annapolis, MD, beloved daughter of A. Terry
Walman and Linda M. Elliott, of Annapolis, MD. Whitney graduated from UNH with a bachelor's degree in
psychology.
Whitney worked as a catering manager for The Green Bean in
Exeter, NH for several years. Following the birth
of her children, she devoted and dedicated her time and talent to raising her family.
Whitney had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. Her rendition of 'White Rabbit' would spellbound a crowd.
She was a ball of energy, very outgoing, and could make friends anytime, anywhere. Whitney had an amazing
skill of bringing people together. She was an excellent chef and was incredibly artistic and poetic. She loved
swimming and water. She really enjoyed hosting trivia. She also loved movies, one of her favorites being "The
Big Lebowski" and was known to quote famous lines from the movie such as "The Dude Abides". She was very
active in participating in community events and outings, especially with her children and family, who were of
the utmost importance to her.
Besides her husband, Jake, her son, Avner Michael Rossman (age 5), daughter, Ophelia Hanna Rossman (age
3), and her parents, Terry and Linda, Whitney is survived by a sister, Catharine Elliott Walman, and her
husband Justice Hamilton Snoddy, of
Garland, TX; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jeffrey Michael
Rossman & Renee Linnea Rossman, of
Big Lake, MN; sisters-in-law, Angela Claffy (William), and Elizabeth
Rossman (Riley Lange); a brother-in-law, David Rossman; nieces Holly and Emmy Claffy and also several
aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends. She was the granddaughter of the late Miriam & Philip Walman
and Robert & Ruth Elliott.
SERVICES – Relatives & Friends are invited to celebrate Whitney's life on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023 from
11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave.,
Dover, NH 03820. A time of
remembrance will take place in the funeral home at 1pm. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions in honor of Whitney Rossman, to one of two programs.
