Dr. William Douglas Daniel, M.D., aged 80, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025. Born on March 7, 1944, in Carrollton, GA, he was the beloved son of William Curtis Daniel and Emily Windom Daniel.
A proud graduate of Carrollton High School, Dr. Daniel furthered his education at West Georgia College before receiving his medical degree from Georgia Medical College in Augusta in 1970. Following his graduation, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy, dedicating his early career to the noblest of calls.
In 1969, Dr. Daniel married the love of his life, Marsha McCormick Daniel. Together, they built a beautiful life and family. He established a private practice in 1977, which he ran with commitment and compassion until his retirement in 1997. Even in retirement, Dr. Daniel's dedication to helping others continued as he actively contributed to FEMA Disaster Response efforts.
Dr. Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Marsha McCormick Daniel; his sons, William R. Daniel II (Dana Ann Daniel) and Douglas Blaine Daniel (fiancée Jennifer Lynne Preset); and his cherished grandchildren, Willow Elizabeth Daniel and Walker Blaine Daniel. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Marshall Blaine McCormick III (Kay Fett McCormick), as well as numerous cousins and extended family members.
A celebration of Dr. William Douglas Daniel's life will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, 1 p.m. at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church.
