Mr. William “Roger” Daniels of Harmony, 71, beloved son of the late William C. Daniels and Evelyn Pierce Daniels was born in Iredell County on March 7th, 1953. He passed peacefully into eternal rest with the Lord on Sunday, November 10, 2024, following a brief illness.
Roger enjoyed playing music with “The Friends of Harmony Gospel Band”. Roger and his band shared their cheerful love of music with the community, often performing for residents of local nursing homes. With his blessing, the band will continue. He played many instruments by ear and would play music with anyone that shared his enthusiasm for the art and encouraged everyone to take part.
Roger was an amateur geologist and loved gem hunting. He often turned his unique finds into beautiful pieces of jewelry that he enjoyed giving away to dear friends. His pieces endure as a reminder of his creativity and generosity.
Roger always had some sort of 4x4 and in the past he, along with his dear Uncle, Thomas Pierce, participated in mudslinging competitions which brought him a lot of joy.
Roger was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting with his dogs and gardening. He loved animals of all kinds; dogs, cats, donkeys and chickens were some of his favorites.
He loved his dear wife Judy and relished the wonderful meals she prepared with love.
Roger leaves behind to cherish the memories of his life his beloved wife of 42 years, Judy Allen Daniels, a daughter Michele Dyson (Steven), a son Ken Byrd (Valorie), three beloved grandchildren, Katie Byrd, Michael Byrd and Hunter Dyson, two sisters, Susan Daniels Head (Jim) and Lori Daniels Sweeney (Pat) along with many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Holly Springs Baptist Church in Harmony, NC with Rev. Cliff Gwaltney officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Committee, 355 Houstonville Rd. W., Harmony, NC 28634.
Nicholson Funeral Home is honored to serve the Daniels family.
Michele, his daughter, is unable to be here. Her heart is broken over Roger’s passing. She is progressing in Atlanta at Shepherd Center. She is working hard, and her injury is improving slowly.
This situation is difficult for Judy, her mother, and the family to talk about at this time. Please be respectful. As always, your continued prayer support is greatly appreciated, and we can see God’s healing taking place.
