William Kimmel III Obituary
William Robert Kimmel III, known affectionately to friends and family as Bill, brought a lifetime of laughter and joy to those around him during his 45 years on this earth. Born on March 7, 1978, in
Ellicott City, Maryland, where he would also draw his last breath on December 18, 2023, Bill's subtle laugh remains an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
Bill's early years were spent in Ellicott City, where he attended Mt. Hebron High School and was known for his easy smile. He later furthered his education at Howard Community College, earning an associate degree. Bill's professional life was spent in various positions but for the last seven as a Sales and Customer Service Rep at Eastern Lift Truck in
Dundalk, MD. There, he was not just an employee but a beloved colleague known for his ability to brighten even the dullest of days with his humor and kindness.
Family was the cornerstone of Bill's life, and though he now joins his parents, William Robert Kimmel Jr. and Cheryl Ann (Barkley) Kimmel, along with his maternal grandparents, Karl and Barbara Barkley, his memory will be cherished by those he leaves behind. His paternal grandparents, Bill and Carol Kimmel, Aunt Kathy (Brad) Michael, Uncle Jeff (Laura) Kimmel, Aunt Linda Barkley and Aunt Deb (Rick) Wahl, along with his cousins Paul, Michael, Joshua, Eric, Elizabeth, Bekah, Rachel, Kelly and Andrew will miss his gentle presence. His special friends Tom, Damien, Steve, John, and Mike will forever recall the laughter and camaraderie they shared.
Bill was a lifelong and unapologetic fan of the Washington Redskins. He would jokingly remind everyone that "the only 'C-word' I recognize is 'Championship,' which we'll get to... eventually!" His love for the game was only matched by his enthusiasm for WWF Wrestling, where he admired the theatrics and the raw energy of the sport. Bowling was another favorite pastime, whether competing in leagues or casually knocking down pins with friends.
Described by those who knew him best as gentle, intelligent, and kind, Bill's legacy is one of laughter and love, a man who never took himself too seriously and encouraged others to do the same. As we bid farewell to a soul who spent his days creating joy, let us remember the man who could find the humor in everything and the kindness in everyone. His laughter, his jokes, and his unwavering optimism have left an indelible mark on this world, and for that, we are all eternally grateful. As we reflect on Bill's life, let us carry forward the light he shone so brightly. In our memories, he will forever be the man who could turn any frown upside down, who knew that the best way to face any challenge was with a smile, and just the night before his passing, took the time to encourage an aunt in her work and remind her that he "always did have one great ass." Farewell, Bill, and thank you for the love and the laughter.
