Raymond Rinaldo "Ray" Sessions Jr.

Sessions Jr., Raymond RinaldoRay71, of Lake City, Florida, passed away Monday, October 7, 2013. Born April 29, 1942, Ray lived most of his life in Central Florida. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Rinaldo Sessions, is survived by his mother, Faye Carroll of Kissimmee, and two sons, Renard Sessions of San Antonio, Texas, and Austin Sessions of Lake City, Florida. Other survivors include four siblings, Ann Silcox of Panama City; Hampton Sessions of Sequim, Washington; Martha Eames of Marietta, Georgia; Mark Sessions of Kissimmee, Florida; and five grandchildren. Ray began his career as Dean of Student Services at Lake City Community College in 1971 after receiving a Doctorate of Guidance and Counseling from East Texas State University. In 1978, he assumed the post of Counselor at Valencia Community College in Orlando, Florida, and remained there until he retired in 2002. Ray's passion for flying led to the creation of Cannon Creek Airpark in Lake City, Florida, where he was to spend his remaining years living in a community of pilots, for pilots. A memorial service to celebrate Ray's life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 26, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church, 101 Dakin Avenue, Kissimmee, Florida, with the Reverend Dr. Bob Wooten, officiating.
