Eugene Mahoney Obituary
Born in Meriden, May 4, 1948, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam war. He had an MA from Suffolk University in Higher Education and Administration and a BS from Quinnipiac College in Health Services Administration. He received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Navy Medical Department in 1973.
After he came home from the war, he participated as a volunteer at a program for homeless veterans in Boston, training them in computer skills and helping them to get a job.
He was the son of the late Eugene H. Mahoney and Rosalyn T. Mahoney (both deceased) and survived by his two sisters, Patricia M. Mahoney and her husband, John P. Sullivan, of New Haven; Charlotte Pinto and her husband Robert, of Glastonbury, and his two nephews, Brian and Aaron Pinto.
Family and friends are invited to attend services in the chapel of the Connecticut Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT, 06457, on February 8 at 2:00 PM.

Thank you Lilian for giving my cousin Gene a touching memorial service at the CT State Veteran's Cemetery on Friday, Feb. 8, 2019. Gene lived on Swain Avenue.. and, I remember him well... I look at his picture... and, that is what I also remember.. a kind face, a wonderful smile, a good guy... Love is never gone... and, my memories are fond ones...

Gene - A kind hearted, soft spoken gentlemen. I will miss our weekly phone chats - talking about the old Meriden and recalling our happy childhood days along with Nancy and Charlotte. I will hold the fond memories of the four of us growing up at 68 Yale Street and the fun we had. Will miss you Gene, Love, cousin Barbara

Gene was a considerate and understanding person. I have great memories of some of our wild and crazy endeavours, especially our time at Middlesex CC. Gene had a very tough journey over the past few years and I am disappointed that we were not able to catch up. My condolences to Lillian, Charlotte and Pat.
