To the Scott sons,
Sorry to hear about your mother's death. We remember her well when you lived on 1st Avenue and when our parents got together for their dinner club. She was a beautiful, cheerful, happy person. Best wishes to you all!

I enjoyed working with Deana at the federal court and also met Doug on several occasions. I was out of state at the time of her death and funeral. I sincerely hope that her family will find much comfort in wonderful memories, and assurance that this life is not the end.

John & Mary,
My heartfelt condolences to you both over the loss of you mother. I apologize for not being at the viewing or funeral and I am sure that I missed a spiritual, uplifting service.
I want you to know how much you both mean to me as friends. I thank Mary for all her kindnesses to Carol and being there for me when I needed someone to lean on. To John for supporting his wife as she provided comfort to Carol and me.
I know that this is probably not the right venue to share these feelings but I am certain your mother is proud of how kind, helpful, and considerate you are of others. This how she raised you to be.
Good luck and you will be in my prayers,
Calvert Cazier

Aunt Deana was one in a million. I will always remember Christmas Eve with her and Uncle Doug as an indispensable part of the season. She had a way of showing that she genuinely loved and cared for you. She had an energy and enthusiasm about her that was contagious. She lived a wonderful life and is now having a joyous reunion with her husband. The Joyce family loves her and Uncle Doug and wish to express our sincere sympathy at her passing.

Mixed emotions are streaming through my soul. I am so sad this lovely lady decided to take the ultimate journey. I am so very happy for Aunt Deana! I'll bet Uncle Doug is so happy to see her happy, beautiful soul. They are quite a great and marvalous couple. They made me feel like everything in the world was an adventure. There was nothing that they could not conquer or explore as best friends.
Thank-you so much Aunt Deana for making me feel like I belonged to a wonderful group of people. You always had a exciting, interesting story to tell, I could sit and listen to you for hours. Our history has adventurous tales!
I have often wondered when we came to SLC to visit you, then you could give us $20.00 and send us off down town to explore. "The Hansen Planatarium is just down the block, you could have lunch here, be back at 4:00 and we'll go to the circus. Goodness! Three little country bumpkins lose in the city? You were either courageous or you were trying to tell us to get lost. I've always wondered... We loved every minute of it! Thank-you.
You radiated self confidence and gave a little part of yourself to those you knew - it was like enjoying a piece of candy, sweet and comforting, without the trip to the dentist.
Wally, Brent and John..and families I am sorry for your loss... I know you will miss her so very much. You were greatly blessed for having such wonderful parents.
Stay together and enjoy the pieces of stories past... and the wonderful spirit given to you by your mom and dad... make new stories together.. together you can do anything! My sympathy and Love to you all!

As a neighbor kid growing up on Canterbury Drive I spent many hours in the Scott home. Sister Scott always made me feel welcomed and loved; treating me as "one of her own". She had a warm sense of humor and loved to prod us into dating girls within the ward. "You guys are blind", she would often say. Plus there was the added benefit of a rather large stock of Pepsi products readily available.
I'll miss her yet I'm grateful she gave me so many sweet memories. Wally, Brent, and John, my deepest condolences on your loss. You were truly lucky to have such great parents.
Much love,
