Daisy Berkowitz Obituary
Putesky’s former band Jack Off Jill confirmed his passing, according to Rolling Stone. The guitarist was diagnosed with Colon Cancer in 2013.
Putesky and Brian Warner (better known as Marilyn Manson) met in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in the late 1980s where they formed the industrial metal band Marilyn Manson & The Spooky Kids. Putesky and Warner named themselves Marilyn Manson and Daisy Berkowitz reflecting America’s fascination with beauty queens and serial killers. Daisy Berkowitz combined the “Dukes of Hazzard’s” Daisy Duke with David "Son of Sam" Berkowitz.
As Daisy Berkowitz, Putesky wrote songs for the Marilyn Manson album “Portrait of an American Family” and the EP “Smells Like Children.” He played guitar on the band’s breakout hit, a cover of the Eurythmics’ song “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of These)"

He participated in the recording of some songs for the 1996 album “Antichrist Superstar,” but left the band in the middle of recording due to musical disagreements with Marilyn Manson and producer Trent Reznor.
Marilyn Manson paid tribute to Putesky in an Instagram post:
"Scott Putesky and I made great music together. We had our differences over the years, but I will always remember the good times more. Everyone should listen to 'Man That You Fear' in his honor. That was our favorite."
After leaving Marilyn Manson, Putesky was in the band Jack Off Jill and the electro-punk band Kill Miss Pretty.
