Paul, I was one of your biggest fans. My buddy Joe and I travelled as far as other states to see You and Richie and Little Feat play. I can’t express how much I miss you and Richie playing with the band. You were the best slide guitar player in the world! Rest in Peace

That Paul Barrere was so talented he was able to claim his own spotlight outside the truly giant shadow his fellow guitarist cast, and in it shine for decades, is testament to his remarkable artistry. For to me, Barrere's best songwriting credits during the 2000s, an entire generation of rock later. That's an impressive record and ... now, for ever. T/y Paul Barrere. Peace.

Since the age of 12, Id been an avid Little Feat fan. I couldnt possibly love them more. I even owned an original Neon Park painting. As I grew older I became an avid golfer. I was part of a mens golf club, at a municipal golf course in Los Angeles. There was another golfer named Paul who was kind and helpful. Also a heck of a clutch golfer. He always looked familiar but I guess for the first few months there was a disconnect. Here it was Id been playing golf with my idol, Paul Barrere.

Someone I would have given my left and to meet, was already a friend. So strange. Throughout the years until he couldnt play anymore, he was nothing but kind, gracious and a true pal. We shared some similar ailments, and he steered me to a great doctor as well.

We all miss you Paul. Your golfing, your music, your friendship, and for being THE funkiest white guitar player of all times.

What a kind & generous person Paul was. I have been a fan since the 70's. I met him when he first joined Facebook. LF was coming to town and we struck up a conversation on FB and told him I was going to the concert. He offered up some tickets! I had my doubts that it was really Paul on FB but when I got to the venue, the tickets were there! I met him that day and what a nice, nice guy! I know he must be rockin' with Richie & Lowell. Thanks for all that great music Paul. It got me through some good and bad times in life. Music soothes the soul and Little Feat music did just that. Love & prayers to his family, friends & a multitude of fans everywhere. He was one of a kind.

Paul you have stood tall as you passed over Eden's Wall. We are happy that you are no longer in pain. Thank you to your family for sharing you with us for the last 50 years. I became a Little Feat fan with Feats Don't Fail Me Now. I have kept some sort of copies of Waiting For Columbus in my cars and home stereo. Our 28 year old sons' first concert was a Little Feat show and he remains a huge fan. When he was a kid, we used to play Fat Man in the Bathtub before every bath. We will miss your distinctive guitar and voice. Rest easy with Richie and Lowell.

When I first met Paul in my teens I always thought I wanted to be like him happy ,fun and kind.
Always treated people with kindness and care.
Saw him last year at one of the shows on the East Coast and had the same feelings I has as teen.
I will always think of you.

I had the delightful experience to meet and chat with Paul several times over the years before Little Feat shows. Paul was always gracious, witty and just a nice guy to talk with. His musicianship was second to none, hit song-writing and lyrics were stellar and unique, but mostly, he was a nice man. My condolences to the Barrere family and the Little Feat band members.

Little Feat remains for me, the greatest unsung rock band, certainly among U.S. groups, and Paul's inspired musicianship and songwriting were a huge part of their legacy. As a fellow picker with a long bar-band history, groups that wanted to cover Little Feat tunes always knew they were taking on a formidable task, as Paul and his
cohorts always cooked up a musical gumbo that was rhythmically complex, melodically engaging and lyrically
straight from the heart. May the longtime sun shine upon you, Paul, and on all of your loved ones.

Paul, even after Lowell George's departure, you helped lead the band forward, not missing a step.
And thank God for that as we've relished your unique sound for years! We always looked forward to seeing Little Feat live, as you never disappointed & kept rockin' well through the years!
While hoping the band will, somehow, continue, we certainly can't forget your family & friends who're mourning your passing. Let not your hearts be troubled.
And rock on!

My favorite band--ever. While I admired the wordplay in Lowell George's songs, Paul's guitar playing--I keep thinking of "All that You Dream"--added much to the distinctiveness of Little Feat's music. Paul leaves a indelible legacy for several decades of the band's fans. Thanks for the groove.
