Gloria Marie Barrere

Gloria Marie Cook Barrere, 83, went home to be with the Lord on September 1st, 2025 in Venice, FL. Gloria was born on December 5, 1941, in Wauchula, Florida. She was a loving and devoted wife, mom, nana, aunt, and friend. Gloria lived a life that exuded love and service, always striving to be like her savior Jesus. She touched countless lives with her thoughtfulness, humility, and gentle spirit. She was the family memory keeper with her camera, loved traveling and being on the go with her late husband Bob, and spending time with friends and family. "Nana" and "Aunt Dojie" loved pouring into generations of family and friends, selflessly hosting, serving, and giving. She made fast friends everywhere she went, with a tender heart, encouraging words, and a listening ear that people could sense immediately. Her impact was felt by store clerks, wait staff, prisoners, the homeless, neighbors, caregivers, and a lifetime of dear family and friends. She inspires all of us to live a life of purpose, following God, and simply loving others with kindness and intentionality. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Robert George Barrere. She is survived by sons Brian Barrere (Ragin) and Bobby Barrere; thirteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Robarts Garden Chapel on Saturday, September 13th, 2025, at 1:00 PM followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 PM.
