I met Rosey Taylor outside of Joseph S Clark Sr. High School in 1975. I was introduced to him by my football coach Oscar James. When coach James said I want you to meet Rosey I was taken by surprise because he was the guy who had all the football, basketball, and track trophies on display upstairs in the school building. I was on the football team at Clark and it made me so proud to meet him. He was a Clark Bulldog who was a very good player in the NFL. Bless you Mr. Taylor.

I remember Mr Taylor as one of my favorite football players. I met him personally at a bank where I worked on St Claude in New Orleans. I waited on him several times until one day it hit me. I noticed a Super Bowl ring on his finger. I said oh my God Mr Taylor you are The great Rosie Taylor. You were my favorite. We chatted football every time after that day. He was so darn sweet and very humble. Here it is 2023 and I´m just seeing he passed in 2020. My condolences to Mrs Taylor and family. A great man.

My sincere condolences to the family. I'm sorry for your loss. I only met Mr. Taylor a couple of times with Lisa. During college, Lisa and Sherri shared many stories about their lovely family. Some stories were about how Mr. Taylor showed up as a "gentleman's gentleman" to represent the best of black men. Mr. Taylor did good.

As clubhouse boys for the Chicago Bears during our high school years (1963-1966), we were privileged to know Rosey. He was our favorite player and the only Bear that we made a special effort to introduce to our parents. Although soft spoken, his love for us and for humanity were more impactful than any of his numerous bone rattling tackles. We are honored to be included in his circle of friends. With love, Carl and Tony Ruzicka

To Mrs Claudia, Brian and all of Rosey's family I send my condolences. Every time I drive down Franklin Avenue I think about the excitement of a 12-year old meeting an All-Pro just months after he helped the Chicago Bears win the NFL Championship. I always admired Rosey. Even in my old age, when we talked I still felt excitement like that 12-year old felt 56 years earlier. Thanks #24! Ro Brown

As young newly-weds from Minnesota, we were Chicago apartment building neighbors with the Taylor family during 1968. It was our great privilege to become friends with Claudia and Rosie and also to care for their darling daughters Sherri and Alicia on game days for the Bears. We carry the fondest memories of the beauty and generosity of that family, and of course of the rich humanity of Rosie. Thanks be to God for such a wonderful life.

I remember when he played for our 49ers. If that was a small part of his career, it is still something to be treasured by every 49er fan. Eternal glory to him in a much more important Hall of Fame.
