Stephen Mikulak Obituary
AGE: 65-years • Colonia
Stephen A. Mikulak, of Colonia died Monday, June 16th at the JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 65.
Born in East Orange, he has lived in Colonia since 1968. He served as a NJ State Assemblyman, representing the 19th Legislative District from 1992 to 1996. He then worked as the Executive Director of the Department of Transportation (NJDOT) until his retirement in 2009.
He was a parishioner of St. John Vianney RC Church in Colonia. He was also a member of the Pope John Paul I Knights of Columbus Council #6571, the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks #2282, both in Colonia and the National Rifle Association.
Steve was an avid fan of the San Antonio Spurs and the Oakland Raiders.
He was predeceased by his parents, Stephen A. & Elizabeth C. Mikulak.
Surviving are his wife, Chary Lim Mikulak; sister, Carole Butler of Somerset; nephews, Scott (Joann) and Brett (Karen); and 2 great-nephews and 1 great-niece.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 19th at 8:30 AM at the Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Road, Edison, followed by 9:30 AM Mass at St. John Vianney RC Church, Colonia. Burial to follow in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18th from 5-9 PM at the funeral home.

I first met Steve way back in 1977 at the Woodbridge Young Democrats Club. We lost touch in recent years. So sorry to hear of his death.

A true friend of the highest regard,Steve was a unique individual who will be missed by all who knew him.I was proud to be his best man when he & Chary were wed and he was mine when Carol & I tied the knot. He helped mold my future. God be with you friend.
