To Barbara, Linda, Terry, Rich & Family:

I was privileged and honored to know Harry for 40 years, dating to our time with the New Orleans Saints. He became a dear friend, who shared his love of baseball and boysenberry pie with me. So much so, that in 1987, when the N.Y. Giants came to L.A. to play the Raiders, I presented him with a fresh baked boysenberry pie. He later admitted it never made it home, as he devoured it on the team place. And he's probably searching in heaven for a boysenberry pie to call his own.

Another memory was discovering a photo of Harry with NFL founder George Halas taken at the NFL Draft at the old Sherman House Hotel in Chicago in the early 60's. I told Linda about it and she acquired it to surprise her father and it may have been one of his most treasured possessions. But he truly cherished everyone in his family.

I can tell you this. People like Harry come along once in a lifetime. I'll remember his smile and laughter and most of all, his friendship. We talked often the past few years and his passing is a huge loss for all of you and his friends, including me.

I'm just so glad I got to know him for as long as I did and realize what true friendship means.
