She was born Aug. 24, 1947, in New London, the daughter of Frederick T. Brinson Sr. and Jennie (Krapowski) Brinson.
Sandra was cherished by all who knew her. She always put her needs aside to help others and will be missed dearly and never forgotten. She was an avid animal lover and devoted much of her time to them.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Chester Z. Pierce Jr.; four children, Chester Z. Pierce III of Ledyard, Brenda L. Worst and her husband, Howard, of Ledyard, Tammy L. Avery and her husband, Ricky, of Ledyard, and Jodie A. Grover and her husband, Creg, of Ledyard; 13 grandchildren, Brittany, Jared, Codi, Mackenzie, and Alexis Pierce, Josh and Emmy Worst, Winter, Jessie, and Kayla Avery, Dakota, Rylee, and Larry Grover; and a cousin, Cheryl Sawyer of Ledyard.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Byles-Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames St., Groton. Burial is private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Animal Rescue Fund, PO Box 238, Waterford CT 06385.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Sandy,
I remember how many laughs we had over coffee and solved all the worlds problem.
