Shirley Phillips

Shirley was born December 13, 1956 to Calvin and Darlene Davis. She was the oldest sister of 7 children.
She is preceded in death by her father and stepmother, mother, Glen Dale (brother), Jolene (sister), Renee (sister), Calvin Jr (brother).
She leaves behind her husband Bert Phillips, her 3 daughters Jessica Larussa, husband Trey, Stacey Elkins, husband Shea, Vicky Wilson, husband Gentry, her 4 beloved grandchildren Levi and Tucker Elkins, and Michael and Rachel Larussa. Shirley also leaves behind her beloved puppy dog Rip.
45 years ago, she married the love of her life Bert Phillips. They built a beautiful life together that was an example of true love. Together they raised their 3 daughters who were her greatest treasures she called her ladybugs. Being Mamaw quickly became one of her greatest joys. Everyone she met knew how much she loved her grandchildren. She had one of the biggest hearts. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need. She was extremely proud of her family and made sure they knew she was. She never ended her day without texting or calling everyone to tell them she loved them and good night. She leaves behind a legacy of love, and will be truly missed by so many.
Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, July 8, 2025 from 2:00-3:30 P.M. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS, with the funeral service immediately following in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Tommy Temple will conduct the service. Burial will be in Memorial Garden Park Cemetery in Starkville.
Pallbearers will be: Shea Elkins, Trey Larrusa, Gentry Wilson, Dale Davis, Cody Davis and Stanley Dowell.
