I am sorry to read about the passing of Mr. Parks. I transferred to Texas Tech in the Fall of 1979. Dave owned and operated a Nautilus workout facility on the front of Bromley Hall where I lived. I worked for Dave that school year until he sold the business. Dave was a real nice guy and he had some great stories about his time in the NFL. He treated everyone with respect. May God have mercy on his soul and may the perpetual light shine upon him.
Sincerely,
Michael Stannard

Tremendous athlete, great individual, represented TTech in the NFL with moxie stud and integrity. His AFL/NFL draft dodge hideout in an Abilene Motel is priceless...

As tough and hard-nosed, as he was talented. Dave could keep his concentration in a crowd of defenders, take brutal hits, and hang on to the ball. And he could block! Courageous, with a tremendous "motor." Dave was a similar, but bigger, version of another great former Saint and Niner receiver named Danny Abramowicz. Guys who set an example for all-out effort, and a model for the way the game should be played.
You gave it your all, Dave, and your fans, coaches, and teammates appreciated the efforts.
