Richard E. Fernandez

August 15, 1940 - July 16, 2025

Richard "Jap" Fernandez, 84 passed away on July 16, 2025 at his home in Yuma Arizona. He was surrounded by his family.

Richard worked for McMahons/Heilig & Meyers for many years. He was also employed with Yuma County before retiring in 2008.

In high school he played basketball and baseball and was involved in AMS. His passion was playing baseball, and you can find him playing at the club Latinos. On his downtime, you can find him hanging out and reading at Hastings.

Richard is survived by his sisters, Cynthia and Cathy Fernandez, as well as his sons, Richard Fernandez Jr., Tommy and Timmy Little, along with numerous grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Richard is proceeded in death by his wife, Jan Fernandez; daughter, Lucretia Little; father and mother, Sebastian and Juanita Fernandez; sister, Lydia Caraway and brothers, Jimmy and Donny Fernandez.

Arrangements include a private cremation.
