I recently met your daughter, Shea, at a friend's wedding. She told me about her dad, making jokes that I am sure comes directly from being that "Best Dad Ever." I am heartened to have heard how her dad's spirit lives on through her, and all of those that were lucky to have him in their lives. May God bless you. 9/11/2023

I participated in a Run To Remember 5k this morning. After the finish line we were given flags to place in memory of a person list in the attacks. I randomly placed my flag in memory of Patrick. I came home to research and read about his story. What a great Dad!!!! I can see why he is greatly missed!!!

hey dad,
I miss you so much! I can't believe almost 15 years have passed since I lost you. I was four when I lost you and I'm 19 now daddy! All of us kids are growing up! Shea is 17 and a senior in high school, Ryan has a job at Guy Carpenters, and Sean moved out and has a job at PWC. The five of us are going to Woodloch this weekend to get away. Remember when we went daddy? Shea and I are still trying to find that rock that we sat on for the picture that we took. Mom misses you so much daddy! We all miss you! Please tell Nani, Pop-pop, grandpa and grandma that I miss them! I love you daddy! Love,

Hi, its been years since I left last message but just to let the family know that I visited New York to walk with the Cork Irish at St Patricks Day 2016. During visit I did 9/11 tour and saw and paid respects to My namesake McGuire at memorial walls etc. My friend Donal owns "Mr Ds" bar in New York so we toasted J.P.that night. I am only related by name but Our best wishes are sent as an extended Family.

Pat McGuire was our fall baseball coach 11 years ago. The happy and loving McGuire family, those weeks before 9/11, will forever be etched in my mind and the minds of my family. I do hope that you are all doing well and that you are all succeeding in all that you want from life. My sorrow for what happened to Pat (husband, father and son and wonderful person) and the victims of 9/11 will never fade.

What I remember of Pat McGuire will always be how funny he was and how helpful he was. To this day I still remember the some the jokes he told me and every so often I take them out dust them off and re-tell them, people still laugh (and hard).
The other thing I will always remember about him was how helpful was. My younger brothers and I would go to Albertson park (Now Senator Cameron park) rec. center where he working part-time during high school years (I think). He would save the board games out for me and my brothers and when needed brake up the fights that broke out between my brothers and I.

a friend sent me a recent clipping from newsday about patrick. could this be a member of the williston park mcguire family i knew from summers out on long island, chaminade sock hops and football games through my teen years. sadly, i believe it is. i remember when patrick was born. i was 12. as an only child i adored this large, irish family and regretted losing touch over the years. after reading all the entries here, i fear my friend jimmy is with patrick today. terry mcguire and kevin reilly, i have thought of you all so often over the years. my heart is heavy as i remember patrick as a happy little boy. 10 years have gone by, and i never knew until today that a family i knew was touched by this tragedy. blessings to you all remaining.

My son was on the baseball team that Pat coach that fateful September 2001. When Pat got hit with the baseball we hung around way after practice was over to help watch his kids and to find out how he was. We moved away from Madison not too long after that. We always think of Pat and Danielle and the kids and their relationship with each other. It still hurts our hearts when we think about what happened. We had such a small role in his life but he made a huge impact on us. We still pray for them.

I knew your Dad well, and had the pleasure to work with him for a number of years. He had his own brand of dry, sarcastic humor which everyone always enjoyed...and expected! Great one-liners. I'm sure he's havin' a good time talking baseball with the gang of angels he hangs with.
Also realize that he's always right there with you.

I was lucky enough to work in "the pit" with you for years. You made me laugh so hard, so often...it hurt.
You always spoke your mind, but were smart enough to deliver the message with a smile, a skill I could never master.
You earned universal respect from all who knew you, and for good reason.
I miss you more than I can say...but I guess I can "take a number".
Your jokes and sarcasm still give me strength 7 years later, as if we were just laughing yesterday.
Nobody , but NOBODY had a joke for every occassion.....but more importantly, you WERE the BEST DAD!

rest in peace pat, i had no idea until i saw your boys on oprah, i googled your name and its true.... although we last saw each other in 1982 in Fairfield uni. i have never forgot you and all your pranks. i immediately went to my basement after i found out and looked through my old stuff, i found a photo album with all the pix from back in the day, the thing i regret the most is that we lost touch after graduation, and im sorry it took me 6 years to find out what happend to you...

While researching the life of Frank Joseph Doyle, 2nd cousin and a victim of the 9/11 terrorist attack on the WTC, I was surprised to find the name of Patrick J. McGuire. I have an older brother named Patrick James McGuire who also has a son named Sean, so the similarities between both men were quite startling. My condolences to the McGuire family and may God bless and protect America.

To Patrick's family and friends--
I am specially remembering your beloved jokester and best dad ever on 9-11-02. Last Sunday, I received his name on a card among many in a basket in the narthex of my church, St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Seattle. The cards were provided by Hope-In-Action 9-11, originating in Tacoma, Washington. The initiative encourages participants to learn about the person named on the card, and pray for the loved ones as a positive response to the tragedy of 9/11. I have read about Patrick on the CNN & New York Times web sites and this guest book, and now have a mental picture of him. How very sad that he is lost -- for his world, not just those who knew him personally. You have my heartfelt sympathy.
Tomorrow I will make a donation to a 9-11 relief organization in his memory. On less solemn days to come, I will remember Patrick when I tell a joke (I am notorious for forgetting punch lines.)
I hope that this will be a comfort to you who miss him most: he is remembered.

Patrick, it's hard to believe that it's been a year. I remember when you were a kid, and you were always happy and laughing. As an adult, you were the first to tell the latest Wall Street joke. Your devotion to Danielle and your children was admired and respected. You will be missed, by so very many. Those of us who did get to know you in your too short time on this earth were lucky.
Rest in peace, my dear Patrick.

I can't believe its almost a year that you've been gone, it seems like yesterday we were all together at a party celebrating something and you were right in the middle making us all laugh. Its been a hard year for all who have known you. My heart breaks when I see Danielle and the kids, so beautiful and full of life. We will always remember you and promise to watch over them as if they were our own family. Be happy in heaven and shine down upon us every day. We miss you friend, Stephanie and Chris.

Dear Pat- They may have taken you from us but they can't take away your legacy. You have enriched many lives with your good humor and warmth. You were a good son, husband and father. Your funeral service was a standing room only affair, with every pew and aisle filled and people outside who couldn't even get in. There is a very good reason for the turn out. We all loved you. You have enriched our lives more than you ever thought you could and you weren't even trying. I will never forget the day you left us, because on 9-11 you left for heaven and the world hasn't been the same since.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
