William Ginty Obituary

William F. Ginty, 87, passed away on December 23, 2022. Born November 5, 1935, the son of the late Charles and Eva (Lutters) Ginty.

Most of his life was spent in Meriden. He was an avid sports fan, but baseball was his true passion. He could always be found at a baseball game, whether it was at high school state tournaments or Legion baseball. He enjoyed going to his grandnephew's baseball games from Little League through Legion. He was a talented artist creating family heirlooms of Christmas scenes on slate and nature scenes on antique saws. He loved Big Band music and played the snare drum. He found peace in nature and would take daily walks in CT parks.

He is survived by his brother Thomas Ginty and his wife Christine of Union, SC, sister-in-law Judith Ginty of Meriden and his nephews John Ginty, Jr. and Thomas Ginty, Jr., nieces Melanie Sexton and Michelle Eastham, along with several great-nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his two brothers Charles Ginty and John Ginty, Sr., both of Meriden.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 17th at 8:30 am at St. Rose Church (Chapel), Meriden. Internment immediately following at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

To the family of Bill Ginty please accept my sincerest condolences on his passing. Bill and I worked together at the old DOT garage on miller avenue in Meriden back in the mid 1970´s and he operated the wing plow truck and was always very friendly and helpful to others and especially to us younger guys who were just starting out in our careers with the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
