Mr. Thomas Owen Ginty, age 78, passed away in the presence of his family after a long illness, Saturday, September 20, 2025. He is survived by his wife of more than 58 years, Christine Owensby Ginty.

Mr. Ginty was born in Manchester, Connecticut, April 15, 1947, a son of the late Charles and Eva Lutters Ginty. He attended Plott High School and Manpower Technical Training as a machinist. He was a veteran of the US Air Force having served during the Vietnam era. Prior to his military service, he was employed by Peerless Screw Co. making parts for the Kennedy Space Center. At the time of his retirement, he was employed Timken Co., Tyger River.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three children: Melanie Sexton and husband Tony of Moore, Michelle Eastham of Spartanburg and Dr. Thomas M. Ginty and wife Kimberly of Columbia; six grandchildren, Karl Eastham, Brett Eastham both of Spartanburg, William Sexton, Carter Sexton both of Moore, and Gavin Ginty and Ella Ginty both of Columbia. He was predeceased by brothers, Charlie, John and Bill Ginty.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at Sardis Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Jeff Farmer. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church prior to the services.

Active pallbearers will be Karl Eastham, Brett Eastham, William Sexton, Carter Sexton, Larry Yarbrough and Tony Sexton.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sardis Methodist Church, c/o Butch Kimbrell, 334 Deepwater Rd., Union, SC 29379.

The family will be at the home, 252 Deepwater Rd., Union.
