Glenn T. Gillott

1938 - 2020

Glenn T. Gillott, 82, formerly of Connellsville, passed away Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020, at UPMC East, with his loving family at his side. He was born July 3, 1938, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Frank and Evangeline (Ricci) Gillott. Prior to retirement, he was co-owner of Mania Hardware, Loyalhanna. Glenn also worked as a photographer for the former Gradler Studios, Mt. Pleasant. He was a member of the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist, Scottdale. Glenn enjoyed golfing and was a member of the former Pleasant Valley Country Club, where he served as past president. He was also a licensed pilot, having trained in small planes at the Mt. Pleasant Airport. His hobbies included trap shooting, polkas and square dancing, and he had been a member of the Alwine Square Dance Club. He was a member of the NRA, Ducks Unlimited and the Scottdale Sons of Italy. He also belonged to the White House Club of Loyalhanna and cherished the time he spent with the "Latrobe Coffee Club." Glenn was a proud veteran of the Army. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his devoted family: his wife, Joanne (Mania) Gillott; his daughter, Ann Marie "Pal" Crosby and her husband, Donald, of Leechburg; his two grandchildren, Hannah "Little Pal" Crosby and Kari "Middle Pal" Miller and her husband, Scott; a great-grandson, Derrick Miller; his two brothers, David Gillott and wife, Carol, of Connellsville, and William Gillott and wife, Evelyn, of Mt. Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews; along with his pet hunting beagle, Rinny. Due to current health concerns, a funeral Mass and inurnment with military honors will take place next year when a proper tribute for Glenn can be held.
