ROBERT VALDOVINOS

Our beloved Robert Valdovinos Jr died Friday, October 11, at the age of eighty-nine. He was born to Robert Sr. and Enedina Valdovinos of Oakland on May 13, 1924. Bob attended local schools in Oakland and graduated from CastlemoutHigh School in Oakland in 1942. He enlisted in the Air Force shortly after his high school graduation and served with the 13' division engineering company in the Pacific theater, from Guadalcanal to the Philippines. In 1947 Bob was employed by the A. B. dick Company of San Francisco, manufacturer of printing equipment and supplies. He worked as a service technician and later as service manager. He became Regional Service Manager for A.B. Dick Company in 1958; his territory covered II western states. Bob married Patricia Doull also of Oakland in 1950. They were married for 47 years until her death in 1997. In 1966 Bob and his family moved to Fresno, where he was employed by Mimeo Sales Company, a distributor of A. B. Dick products. Later, in 1972, Bob bought the A.B. Dick distributorship with partner Austin McNaughton who passed away in 1976. The distributorship covered six counties in the San JoaquinValley. Bob's hobbies were golf and making and flying model airplanes. Bob is survived by his brother, Ernie and his wife Marcy Valdovinos of Fresno; sister and brother-in-law, Theresa and Marcel Pellerino of San Leandm; brother-in-law, Bud and his wife Susan Amouroux of Newark; son, Robert Valdovinos III and partner Jeannie Holt; daughter, Susan Valdovinos, all of Fresno. A Memorial Service will be held at The Bridge Church, on 3438 E. Ashland in Fresno, on Thursday, October 24, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Cancer Society or the Heart Association.
