Jeffrey "Jeff" Durdil

Jeffrey S. Durdil "Jeff", 67, of Lakewood passed away peacefully at his home in Lakewood Tuesday, January 27, 2016. He was born January 26, 1949 in Cleveland. Jeff graduated from Valley Forge High School in Parma, Class of 1967. He was a United States Air Force veteran, serving in Viet Nam, Red Horse Battalion 1968-1972. He was employed as a Meat Cutter at TOPS for 30+ years, retiring in 2005. One of his greatest joys were his family and he enjoyed family trips and time spent together at Put-in-Bay. He was an avid sports fan, always wishing for a sports championship from any of the Cleveland teams, spending time riding his motorcycle, snorkeling, and his time spent playing recreational softball. Mr. Durdil is survived by his sons Jeremy S. (Heather) Durdil of Elyria and Nick E. (Dana) Durdil of Columbus; grandchildren Alexis (Justin Gonzalez) and Ariel Durdil; great-granddaughter Vivien Durdil; sisters Sally (Bob) Leciejewski of Port Clinton, Nancy (Jim) Leciejewski of North Ridgeville; cousin Diane Smith (Keith) of Strongsville. He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Agnes Durdil (nee Jancy). Friends may call 5-8pm Friday, February 5 and 10-11am Saturday at the Busch Funeral Home, 114 Second Street, Elyria. A Celebration of Life will be 11am Saturday at the funeral home. Barbara Habecker, Busch Celebrant, will officiate. Military Honors will be performed by VFW Post #1079.
