Grieco, age 85, of Claymont, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, DE surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ava D. Grieco, and was a member of Holy Rosary Parish in Claymont. He graduated from St. James Catholic High School in Chester, PA, class of 1943. Upon graduation, Joseph enlisted in the Navy and served overseas during World War II. He graduated from Pennsylvania Military College (PMC) in 1949 with a degree in electrical engineering. He was employed by Dupont as an engineer at the Chambers Works site and retired in 1991 after 41 years of service. Joseph was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan and loved tending to his vegetable garden. He enjoyed bowling and played volleyball for many years. Aunt Ava and Cathy,Joey,Nancy,David,Janet,Susie,Judy and Mark--
I have great memories of visits with all the family, including Drullingers,Lombardos and the Griecos. Uncle Joe often seemed a calming influence on all of us, although he did have a certain impish twinkle in his eyes, as well. Certainly a great uncle and one who will be missed. Love to all of you.
