Mr. Bonfiglio was my basketball coach at Woodland School in Hazel Crest. I moved to Pittsford, NY in 1963 and often thought of him as soft spoken role model in the years that followed. He had a tremendous impact on me. To this day, I spend time on the basketball court as a form of mental release and physical exercise.
I tried many years ago to learn of his whereabouts and so wish that I could have thanked him.
I don't know if any of his family will get this, so I will try to get this message to them via social media.
Attached is a photo of Coach Bonfiglio with our 7th grade basketball team that I just found this week, January 2022. I am the top left in the picture.
I know you are RIP-ING Coach!

I want to express my sympathy to Mr. Bonfiglio's family. Thanks to the internet I just "googled" his name, following a spirited conversation with friends about teachers who were positive influences in our lives. I attended Woodland School back in the '50s and he team taught my 6th grade class with our principal, Mr. Crawford. What an amazing year that was for me and much of it was due to his positivity and especially his sense of humor and the way he treated all of us students with respect...he really liked kids. When looking at his photo, he hadn't changed very much. Please accept my condolences. Cynthia Grace- Lang

My prayers for all of Ron Bonfiglio's family. He was my Homeroom teacher as a Freshman (first teacher I met!), my Driver's Ed teacher, and most importantly...well respected coach. As a cheerleader, he always looked out for us and made sure we got where we needed to go at away games. We appreciated that!
