Dr. David Holmes Edison of West Grove, PA, age 81, passed away January 9, 2015. David was born in 1933 in Claymont, DE to Dr. Austin & Myrtle Edison. He graduated from Claymont HS in 1951, Oberlin College (BS Chemistry) in 1955, and University of Rochester (PhD Chemistry) in 1959. He worked for E.I.DuPont de Nemours and Co. for 33 years. He also volunteered for many years at Christiana Care and Jennersville Regional Hospital. He enjoyed sailing, woodworking and tinkering with electronics. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who always placed his family's needs above his own. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marian Wilson Edison; three children, Dr. James Austin Edison and his wife Susan of Columbus, OH, Michael David Edison of Hockessin, DE, and Susan Edison Church and her husband Kevin of Houston, TX; four grandchildren, David Kenneth Edison, Margaret Elizabeth Edison, Andrew Austin Edison, and Ashley Edison Church; and his brother Austin Edison of Wilmington, DE. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers please send a contribution in David's name to the West Grove Fire Co., 102 Walnut Avenue, West Grove, PA 19390.

Dave was a wonderful person and a special Christiana Care volunteer. It was our privilege to have such a great man share his talents with us. Our prayers and thoughts go out to Mrs. Edison and the entire family.
