I was so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He called me about 6 weeks ago after I made contact with him by email. The last time we had seen each other was in 2004 at our 50th Class reunion from Prep. We knew each other before then because our father's were lifelong friends from downtown Jersey City. Our fathers would visit occasionally at the funeral home on Jersey Ave. and Jimmy and I would play downstairs or in the yard while the 'Old Boys" would discuss what was going on in local politics etc. There were a few slantes before my dad and i would walk home to our house on 8th Street.
I'm told Jim I was coming back to the states and we planned on visiting down in Spring Lake next year. We'll have to put that meeting off for a while until we and our Dads meet again.
