Jason Matthew Westin, age 46 of Rowlett, TX, passed away October 27, 2016 in Dallas, TX. He was born on March 27, 1970 in Dallas, TX to John Jay and Carol Sue (Champion) Westin. Jason was a resident of Rowlett for 15 years, a member of Landmark Baptist Church in Nevada, TX and worked as a sales representative. He married beautiful wife, Jennifer, on October 9, 1993 in Mesquite, TX.
Jason was an amazing son, husband, father, brother and friend. He was the “Rock” of his family and among his friends. He was a mentor to everyone he knew, and he left an imprint on the lives of everyone he came into contact with. Jason filled his parents’ hearts with so much joy. He never let them down or disappointed them and was always thoughtful of them, as well as others. Jason had many hobbies and interests that included flying remote controlled airplanes, playing golf and ice hockey, and he excelled at everything he ever did. He really had a “need for speed”, as he loved anything with lots of horsepower! The faster he could go, the better. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and 4 wheelers. Although Jason had many interests and hobbies, his children were his life. He always put them first, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him
Jason is survived by his wife of 23 years, Jennifer Westin; children, Abigail Westin and Grace Westin; parents, John and Sue Westin; sister, Jennifer Lee and husband, Brian; mother and father-in-law, Judy and Scott Hurd; nephews, Case, Reid and Anderson.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M., Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home in Sachse. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, October 31, 2016 at Charles W. Smith and Sons Chapel in Sachse with Pastor John Colyer and Jason Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Lake View Cemetery in Lavon. Pallbearers will be Jason Thomas, Brian Lee, Michael Champion, Bud Champion, Troy Gilbreth, Cody Jackson, Brandon Tamakloe and Robbie Hunter.

I had ask God for a child and He answered my prayer. I was like Hannah in the Old Testament, barren. But you are proof of how God hears our prayers. The day you were laid in my arms I loved you completely. You were always a sweet little boy who thought he should protect his mom and little sister. You watched your dad and became a living husband just like him, a provider and protector. You are greatly love and will be greatly missed, but because of your profession of faith in our Lord Jesus, I know I will see you again. Watch for your mom, son, lll be there before long. Love you a bushel and a peck, and a hug around the neck, Mom

I worked with Jason for 19 years at 4-Star. He was a good friend at work, and away. We played golf together many weekends and a had a lot of lunches at Ojedas. My nickname for him was " King Aggravator",a crown he wore with pride. I will miss him.
