Eugene Wild Obituary

Published by Koepsell Funeral & Cremation Services, Mayville on Nov. 23, 2018.
Eugene E. Wild, Jr., 69 years old, of Mayville, passed away surrounded by his loving family, after a six month battle with liver cancer, on Friday, November 23, 2018 at The Kathy Hospice in West Bend, WI. There will be no formal funeral services per Gene's wishes. Eugene E. Wild was born on September 21, 1949 to Eugene M. and Mary Ann (Ries) Wild in Fond du Lac, WI. Gene was a 1968 graduate of Mayville High School. He was united in marriage to Sharon A. (Glamann) Wild on November 28, 1970 in LeRoy, WI. He was employed as a maintenance supervisor at Vintage Parts in Beaver Dam for 32 years. Gene was a member of the Mayville Gun Club. He loved shooting traditional archery and shooting all the bows he collected over the years. He was a true tinkerer at heart. There wasn't anything he couldn't build, fix, wire or weld. He loved the challenge of making something out of nothing and passed his wealth of knowledge onto his family. He always had the time to stop and talk to people and tell one of his many stories. His family and friends were very important to him. One of his favorite things to do was going bullhead fishing with his grandson Landen. He took a lot of pride in his cabin at Necedah. He built it from the ground up and eventually he gave up his separate hunting room, which became known as "Landen's Cabin". Gene is survived by his wife Sharon of Mayville; his children Tricia M. Wild and John M. (Kathie) Wild; his brother and sisters Rev. Father Michael Wild of West Bend, Kathie (Ronald) Schraufnagel of Waupun, Christine (Dave) Cargen of Beaver Dam, and his brother-in-law & sister-in-law Dr. John (Sue) Glamann of Lake Wales, FL; his mother-in-law Florence Glamann of Mayville; his grandson Landen J. Wild; his special nephews, nieces, and many friends. Gene is preceded in death by his parents Eugene & Mary Ann Wild, and his father-in-law Vernon Glamann.

I met Gene 20 years ago at Finlay Industries for a sales call for equipment and from that day I thought this guy is pretty cool. Always honest and straight forward, he called me "Big Guy" and I loved to talk to him. Always the same guy each time. The family has our Deepest Sympathy, he will be truly missed in my heart, however I am so glad we had the opportunities to share some positive moments

So sorry for the loss of Gene - we know he was not having any fun these last many months. He didn't deserve any pain and suffering. It was not what anyone would want for such a fun-loving man with a heart of gold. There is a big hole there with Gene's passing. He will be missed. God's blessings and sincere sympathy. Our prayers are with you and he'll be watching over all of his loved ones.

Read the Obituary today, much too early the loss of Eugene. As you know I did legal work for years and greatly respected the Wild Family. Respectfully, Atty James Grant

Sharon and family. I am so sorry to hear of Gene's passing. I have been worried since I have not seen him by me in Necedah. I look for him every time I walk past the cabin. My sincere condolences to all who knew and loved him. I am confident there are many feeling the loss of Gene. Biggest smile, a warm chuckle and kind words every time I was blessed to see him.

One of my very favorite memories of Geno. There are many. We owned the home on Kekoskee St and a large snowfall of 9 inches damaged some of the trees. The Saturday we were cleaning up. And when we were done Gene had us over for an old fashioned. Well it was several old fashioneds later when we left. As always Gene and Sharon, great neighbors they have always been. Showed us a wonderful time. And we got relaxed. Miss your smile Gene. We will keep an eye on Sharon. Love you.
