John is a dear friend, who in my darkest hour chose not to capitalize on my misfortune but fellowshipped with me. He helped me to understand the choices I could not see past and as the light beneath my feet gave way to the path others were there to aid me in my endeavors. I know John's legacy lives on in our hearts and lives..

My father Bill worked for the Killians for 40 years until his retirement and I grew up knowing this amazing family.I have so many great memories hunting with Johnny and Dickie on the Farias Ranch .My brother Mike,Tito and I were like three wild Indians running loose. I was in awe of John Killian as a kid. I can thank him for some of my fondest memories and will remember him always.

I had the pleasure of meeting John at the courthouse many years ago when he stepped in to help someone who could not afford an attorney. He was such an amazing and kind man and I learned much from him that day. Diane Martinez, San Antonio.

Fresh out of Law School in 85 and a mere 24 years old had a case where John's client had mine in the legal sense hog tied. At the time didn't know John , his respectful, but strong demeanor really intimidated me and left me a memory of a lifetime. As I continued practicing one day the shoe was on the other foot and my client had John's hogtied. Will never forget how gracious he was. Only hope I did the same back in 85. Godspeed John. I knew John for many years and encountered him periodically in the courthouse here and there. He was always fun to be around and he was decidedly a GOOD man to have with you anywhere. He led a happy life. His family is and should be proud of him. Heaven gained a partisan.
