Michael J. Kerns

Michael J. Kerns of Ridley Park, PA lost his battle with cancer on September 16, 2019 at the age of 58. He was born in Darby PA on January 3, 1961 to Marie Theresa (Nook) Kerns and the late Robert J. Kerns. Michael graduated from Ridley Township High School in 1979 and went on to graduate with honors from of the University of New Mexico where he studied engineering. Michael began his career as a Geological Engineer in Las Vegas before moving to Fort Myers Florida where he opened a bar "The Draft House". He most recently worked as the Operations Engineer at "The Rittenhouse" in Philadelphia. Michael loved the Eagles and gambling at the casinos and was an avid day trader. He loved spending time with his family and was a beloved uncle to his many nieces and nephews. Michael is survived by his mother, his brother, Bob Kerns and his nine sisters, Marianne Giannone, Lorie Franco, Janet Kerns, Carol DeAngelis Denise Kerns, Diane Ritz, Susan Watts, Jackie Doubet and Kathy Shwartz and their spouses. Family and friends are invited to attend a Christian Mass in his honor at Saint Madeline's Church in Ridley Park on Saturday September 21, at 12:00. The family will be receiving visitors prior to mass at 11:00.
