Lawrence G. "Larry" Wickstrom

Lawrence G. "Larry" Wickstrom, 77, of Westlake, OH passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, March 27, 2020. He was born in Cleveland, OH to parents Torgie and Margaret (nee Lawrence) Wickstrom on January 20, 1943. Larry joined the US Army after graduating high school and served proudly. He earned many distinctions, including graduating Airborne School and joining the special forces unit, Green Berets. Larry was awarded the Purple Heart after sustaining a gunshot wound in combat. Upon leaving military service, Larry enjoyed many various careers, but ultimately retired in 2005 from the US Postal Service after 18 years. He was a sportsman who enjoyed numerous outdoor activities. Larry was also a craftsman, often tinkering with a variety of materials including leather and wood. Whatever he chose to work on, he made sure the job was done to the best of his ability. Larry's lasting legacy is his family who will cherish his memory. He is survived by beloved wife of 44 years Linda "Sue" Wickstrom; loving sons Eric Wickstrom (Stephanie) and Steve Wickstrom (Ali DiMeo); cherished grandchildren Michael, Logan, Carter and Riley. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Donald Wickstrom. Family and friends may call on Saturday, July 31, 2021 for a public visitation from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at Busch Funeral Home, 32000 Detroit Road, Avon, OH 44011.
