Evelyn Egan

STERLING – Evelyn D. Egan, 100 of Sterling died Monday October 18, 2021 at Regency Care of Sterling. She was born on September 23, 1921 in New Bedford, the daughter of William and Kathryn (Tully) Smith. She married John "Jack" Egan on September 23, 1942 in Tampico. He died November 1, 2013. Evelyn had helped her late husband farm in the Prairieville area and she had also worked in the patient accounts department at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors include her children: Kathy (Lynn) Heffelfinger, Marilyn (Michael) Frazier, Rick Egan and Jackie (Scott) McConnell; six grandchildren: Brian Heffelfinger, Susan Heffelfinger, Michael Ford Frazier, Marty Frazier, Emily Henderson, Kelley Doughty; and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 2 sisters and 5 brothers. Visitation will be Wednesday October 20, 2021 from 11:30 – 12:30 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sterling. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:30 PM with the Reverend James Keenan officiating. Burial will conclude at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made in her memory to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or St. Mary Catholic Church in Tampico.
